About The Institute
The National Institute for Literacy was established in 1991 by the National Literacy Act and extended under the Workforce Investment Act.
Jim Williams
Jim Williams, an employee of the U.S. Department of Education, has been on detail to the National Institute for Literacy since April 2008. His previous experience includes positions in the Office of Vocational and Adult Education, the (former) Office of Educational Research and Improvement, and the Office of Postsecondary Education in the U.S. Department of Education, the Virginia Department of Education, and as a university administrator.
