About the Adult English Language Acquisition Discussion List
Welcome to the LINCS Adult English Language Acquisition Discussion List, a service of the National Institute for Literacy. This list operates in partnership with the Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy at Pennsylvania State University, under the LINCS Workforce Competitiveness Resource Collection grant.
The purpose of this list is to provide an ongoing professional development forum for adult educators who work with adult English language learners or are interested in issues related to this growing and diverse population. The focus of this online forum is to discuss issues relevant to providing research- and evidence-based educational services to adult English language learners; to share information and resources that can be used to inform practitioners about these issues and improve practice; and to enrich and improve public policies related to adult English language learners. Topics may include, for example, instructional practices, program design, research, and policy.
Miriam Burt moderates this list. She can be reached at mburt@cal.org.
