Welcome to the Focus on Basics Discussion List, a service of the National Institute for Literacy, in partnership with World Education and the National Center for the Study of Adult Learning and Literacy. This list is moderated by Julie McKinney.
The purpose of this list is to provide an on-going professional development forum for those interested in the continuous improvement of adult literacy instruction, research, and administration to discuss research and topics covered in the National Center for the Study of Adult Learning and Literacy's publication "Focus on Basics". "Focus on Basics" authors subscribe to the list and respond to communications about their work. It is expected that subscribers --- including NCSALL staff --- will use information exchanged on the list to broaden their knowledge of a topic, with the hope that the knowledge will be put to good use in teaching, program design, policy, and research.
