How EVO Differs - a brief description of the Electronic Village Online and its unique characteristics.

A Short Guide to Netiquette - This is a set of "rules" for courteous behavior on the Internet and is followed by a self-test. (This is also an example of the kinds of materials EVO has developed over the years.)

Going the Distance is a wiki where subscribers can add information, resources, etc. It is also a model for the kinds of tools we use in EVO. Information may be added by requesting to join the wikispace.

Although the EVO is over for this year, many of the group sites are still open and available for browsing. Link to them from http://dafnegonzalez.com/evo-07/index1.htm. (Subscribers must join each of these groups in order to see the resources, but membership is free and usually instantaneous.)

• Academic Writing - teachers can bring groups of students here to work on the exercises and communicate about them through the email list (high intermediate-advanced EFL/ESL level).
• Academic Writing for Teachers - a place for resources and to ask questions about teaching composition in an EFL setting
• Real English Online - for students who want to use realistic videos produced by Mike Marzio (videos for zero beginner-advanced).
• EVOVideo07: ESL/EFL Video Production - a group for video-using teachers. The wiki has many resources, lesson plans, ways to get started with video, answers to technical questions, etc. You are welcome to join and add your resources or questions (also a related YG is linked from this site).
• Learning with Computers - every quarter or so the founders of this group (Gladys Baya, et al.) begin a topic related to using technology online. Resources are archived and the group works together to contribute ideas and good, free tools. This spring the topic is Listening.
• Moodle for Language Teaching - (run by Tom Robb) helps teachers practice using this free, opensource Course Management System (CMS).
