The Institute is a catalyst for advancing a comprehensive national literacy agenda.

About the Technology Discussion List

Welcome to the LINCS Technology and Distance Learning Discussion List, a service of the National Institute for Literacy. This list operates in partnership with the Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy at Pennsylvania State University, under the LINCS Workforce Competitiveness Resource Collection grant.

The purpose of this list is to provide an ongoing professional development forum for adult educators interested or engaged in the uses of technology and distance learning in adult literacy programs. The focus of this online forum is to discuss issues relevant to the use of technology to support and enhance adult education; to provide information and resources that can be used to inform practitioners about these issues and improve practice; and to enrich and improve public policies related to the integration and effective use of technologies and distance learning. Topics may include, for example, effective technology practices, technology capacity and infrastructure, uses of technology and distance learning in adult literacy programs and to deliver professional development and assistance to adult educators.

Nell Eckersley moderates this list. She can be reached at NellE@lacnyc.org.
