Abstract: Equipped for the Future (EFF) is a standards-based approach to reform in the adult literacy education system. This handbook is designed to help community-based organizations that provide adult education to improve their program quality. The handbook identifies four phases of program improvement and includes tools and other resources to support the process.
What the experts say: This is an essential resource with great relevance for the adult education and literacy field. This process was, "One of the most extensive consultation and participation processes ever carried out in adult education." The theoretical base is formidably well researched, the content material is authentic, and there is an ideal sufficiency of tools, worksheets, diagrams, and reading material for both facilitators and participants.
