Hi all,

We had a much bigger audience for the EFF sessions at TESOL this
year. They went very well, with folks expressing a lot of appreciation
for EFF, and also voicing concerns about the program changes that are
needed in order to implement EFF, the integration of EFF with their
own state standards and, of course, assessment. All of these concerns
were raised in the spirit of wanting to use EFF more consistently and
effectively in programs.

There was very clear interest in having more EFF sessions next year
in St. Louis, with lots of ESL-specific examples of planning,
instruction, and assessment, and people want to hear about struggles
as well as successes. The deadline for session proposals is May 1 (one
month away!), so we need to start thinking about this right now.
Might you be interested in participating in a session about teaching
and assessing (especially for beginner levels)? about the field
development work on the performance framework? something else? If
you're interested and are looking for co-presenters, you can contact
me and I'll try to hook people up.

I will be away next week, but will be in touch with TESOLers as well
as the EFF mentor group as soon as I get back.
- Andy
