Laubach Literacy Action is partnering with the EFF Center to present an 11 hour pre-conference workshop "A New Lease on Literacy: Putting EFF to Work in Your Training" at our Biennial conference in Orlando, FL. The conference is June 8-10, with the preconference workshops June 7-8. This training is especially designed for the local literacy programs affiliated with Laubach Literacy Action (LLA) and Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA). But, all community based literacy programs are invited to participate. The workshop is designed to: * orient volunteer trainers and program managers to the EFF framework and standards. * show the participants how national EFF partners have used EFF in their programs. * help participants learn how to build the EFF framework into their own tutor training. The co-leaders of the workshop are: * Caroline Beverstock, Project Read, San Mateo, CA * Sondra Stein, National Institute for Literacy, Washington DC * Taylor Willingham, The Reading Program, Milpitas, CA The cost of the workshop is $80 if you attend the conference. If not, there's an additonal fee of $25. Early Bird deadline for registration is May 1. If you are interested in information about this EFF workshop OR about the conference, please email me.
