Fellow EFFers!

Check out Eureka! at the OLRC site http://literacy.kent.edu/eureka for
lesson plans. Just click on Archimedes!

We are in the beginning stages of developing this database, but have
constructed a pretty usable lesson plan template. Our 32 EFF pilots used
this format to create their lesson plans this year. Our goal for the coming
year is to set up a selection criterion for anyone wishing to submit plans.
We currently have a storehouse of lesson plans (hard copy) from the past 2
years that we want to develop further, based on the standards along with the
framework.

This database will be searchable by key words across lesson plans, trade
books, software, and web sites. If you have a certain topic or theme that
you are developing you will be able to run a search and all resources
related to that particular topic will come up. Currently, you can only
search the lesson plans and the trade books separately, as the the
cross-resource feature is still being developed. There are also teaching
strategies that can be used in lesson preparation or for further explanation
when found in lesson plans.

We are always looking for feedback about ways to improve our resources, so
give me at call at 330.672.2007 ext.33 or email at
jfranks@literacy.kent.edu., and we can chat.

Stay Tuned for Further Developments,
Judy Franks

"Change does not necessarily assure progress, but progress implacably
requires change. Education is essential to change, for education creates
both new wants and the ability to satisfy them."
