Hello Everyone,

Earlier today, Vickie and Mike (separately) posted questions related to
program development: 1.) Why programs choose small group or 1:1, or use a
combination of both? and 2.) Are there program models out there that use
information technology as a tool of learning in family literacy? These are
wonderful questions I hope some of us will have a chance to respond to here -
- in the context of your EFF experience or views on using EFF. If EFF is in
your response, please post it here. Otherwise, please respond privately to
these queries. Thank you.

And, as I periodically will, please let me take this opportunity to remind
everyone about the purpose and focus of this list:

The NIFL-4EFF Discussion List was established to facilitate discussion and
exchange information about Equipped For The Future (EFF), the National
Institute for Literacy's standards-based reform initiative to improve the
quality and outcomes of the adult literacy delivery system.

This discussion list is a place to post our questions, discoveries, and
concerns about EFF; to share our experiences, ideas, and opinions about EFF;
to give and receive feedback from other practitoners who share our interest
in EFF. The NIFL-4EFF Discussion List is a place to further our understanding
about how to implement the EFF Standards in our programs and how EFF is a
catalyst for system reform.

NIFL-4EFF is one of several discussion lists that NIFL sponsors, featuring
targeted discussion in different content areas -- family, workplace,
technology, and health, for example. In order to find out which other lists
are available for subscription, go to:

Thanks,
Ronna
