I wanted to let readers of this list know that -- as a result of
encouragement from EFF library sites in California -- EFF and LiteracyPro
have been working together for the past year to develop a version of
LiteracyPro that is organized around EFF Standards.

This project is part of ongoing development work aimed at enabling programs
to assess and report student progress and success using the EFF Standards.
Since we are still working on the Assessment Framework for EFF it has been a
little difficult to figure out how to structure some parts of the data base,
but we think we will be there soon.

We will report to this discussion list what this database can do once we have
piloted it with EFF programs who are already using LitPro and make the
necessary improvements.

If your program is using both EFF and LitPro and would like to be part of
this pilot please contact Brenda Bell at the Center for Literacy Studies at
UT for more information about requirements for participation.

Brenda can be reached after March 28 (she is on vacation right now) at
bsbell@ utkux.utcc.utk.edu

If you want more information about our current work developing the assessment
framework please see the EFF Voice about our Joint EFF/NRS Data Collection
Project.

Thanks
Sondra
