First I asked them where they wanted to be understood. The telephone was top priority. I wrote out dialogue for each of them to use and brought in old telephones. They "called" the Dr., the dentist, the fire dept., answers to want ads, for apartments, the plumber etc. After practicing for awhile, they wrote out telephone messages and had to give them to another student to read and see if he/she understood the writing. If not, they had to explain the message in English. Telephones took up many months! It will be an NRS Level1-2 class. Any ideas, examples, suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, Susan Rowley Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
