Using "Dear Abby," Students individually or in pairs read the "Letter." They then identify the problem, the people involved, and think up several possible solutions. Students then present their solutions to the class and justify their answer. Revealing and discusssing Abby's answer is optional. 2. Create scenarios of conflicts or situations ( context: work or home) which require interpersonl skills and critical thinking to resolve. In doing this you can customize the conflict, or ask students themselves to create situations they might (or have) encounter(ed). Again, individually or in pairs, students identify the parties involved, identify the essence of the problem, and develop several possible solutions. Present and discuss which solution is best for all involved. You may also discuss possible outcomes if no attempt at resolution is made. Would love to hear how it goes! To do this I need examples of how you are working with students on the interpersonal skills. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how you are using "Guide others," "Resolve conflict and negotiate," "Advocate and influence," "Cooperate with others." Thanks in advance for your insights. Mary
