Perhaps one of the scaffolds might be the actual creation of instructional materials for *students* that directly address the EFF model. I don't think that would have to be extensive--perhaps a 15-20 page unit that explicitly spells out the EFF framework and has well focused exercises and activities built into it to better facilitate the processing of the content. Such a text would be eminently useful both for students and instructors and would not require overly extensive in-service training to utilize. Rather, the materials would hit the ground running with utility from the get go. Should such an oberview unit be created and prove reasonably succesful, then perhaps more extensive units on theindividual pieces of EFF might be warranted, but the first logical step (at least as I see it) is to create an overview unit that is eminently practical, hands on, *and* explanatory. Then fancier stuff could follow. I don't know what the NIFL Fellowship focus is for next year, but this would be a nifty project for curriculum developer.
