As we continue to train practitioners in the use of our TV411 materials, which are based on a constructivist, participatory, learner directed approach to education, we run into many of the same issues, problems, obstacles and roadblocks. Our staff is also working with EFF staff to crosswalk our video and print materials with the components of the standards, so the discussion resonates with us on this level as well. We recently held our first National Training Institute, which follows several suggestions that have appeared in this discussion--it is an intensive four days of training, with a two week separation in between each two days of training, followed up by a four week online set of activities and discussion. The challenge to us, as to EFF, is to change what folks actually do in the classroom, as opposed to what they espouse. Thanks for a rich discussion, and keep it coming! Perhaps when our crosswalk is done, it can assist EFF practitioners as a curriculum tool for addressing the standards. Debby D'Amico
