These reflections come from my recollections, not actually going back to my notes. What were your expectations of the training? What did you want to get out of it? My expectations were to be introduced to the framework, standards etc., some of which were familiar to me, and to be given some idea how to use it and to introduce it to an organization. Why didn't it meet your expectations or goals? There seemed a lot of "set pieces" rather than responding to participants' goals/needs/interests. The emphasis seemed toward established adult education programs, convincing teachers, designing curricula etc. It seemed way too overwhelming to integrate myself, let alone implement myself without a lot of work. What part of the presentation gave you the impression that there is only "one way" to do EFF? The "set pieces," as I said above. I don't remember the emphasis being on the process rather than the product, the reflection on one's own learning, the skills needed to fulfill various roles and responsibilities. It just seemed to be applying standards and that was about it... How had you been using EFF? (using the 4 purposes and role maps only?) Not long at all. Was it the standards that seemed to be unuser friendly? Yes: very much "Educationspeak," rather than terms that I could use "untranslated" even for myself. To be fair, I hadn't yet "lived" it in a teaching situation. Hope this helps. And, yes, Rona, I tried to edit this time...
