As teachers, it is important to communicate exactly what we want to accomplish with the lessons that we teach. The standards contain very good descriptions of the criteria that we are using to establish our learner goals; however, they need to be able to picture how they will know that they have achieve a goal such as being able to "Read for Understanding".
