I do not believe that our wrestling with this issue is in any way creating competition among us. At least I hope that it is not. I believe the word is dialogue. I would fear that if we consider this competition then we would use competition and not cooperation in our dealings with students and other staff. Competition is in the swimming pool when the guy in the next lane is beating me or vice versa. I don't believe it belongs in our setting.
