In the EFF list archives (March 28, 2000 written by Jane Meyer) you can find a description of our process, but I'll add here that when we did our competency list for the career passport we didn't have the components of performance for the skills. Now that we have them we need to update our competencies. In talking about the project we are thinking about forming the competency statements around the worker role map instead of the skills wheel. Either way, this is a good example of using an EFF tool (skills wheel or role map) to help us do something we need to do (in this case articulate to students and employers what the students know and can do). Next time you need to do something look at the various EFF tools and see if any of them can help you. In this case we see 2 tools that would work so we need to think about which one would work best for us in this case.
