The Winter 2002 issue of the EFF Voice is now available on-line at =
http://www.nifl.gov/lincs/collections/eff/eff_publications.html=20

This issue focuses on the EFF Parent/Family Member Role Map and on =
states and programs that are using EFF as a framework for curriculum and =
instruction.

In Arizona, the Bureau of Indian Affairs uses EFF to frame their FACE =
(Family and Child Education) programs. South Carolina finds that EFF is =
quite effective in integrating the four components of family literacy. =
Hawaii uses EFF to frame their family literacy Quality Indicators and is =
now looking to integrate EFF in adult education programs. And Missouri, =
just beginning to use EFF to organize their family literacy programs, =
shares some guidelines for implementing EFF.

Read about how local programs use EFF. KT Lund, a classroom teacher from =
Oregon, uses an EFF standard to assess her learners in a family literacy =
program. Terry Kinzel, from Washington, explains how her program uses =
the Parent/Family Member Role Map with ESL learners.

Also read about a new reading project which will develop and pilot =
reading curriculum based on the EFF Standard Read with Understanding.

Let us know what you think about this issue. Share you comments and =
questions on how EFF frames family literacy programs.
