So, what's my definition of an "EFF classroom"? = Usually implementing EFF is a very evolutionary process- it happens step = by step as we understand the program practices and the framework and how = they can really affect our teaching and learning. =20 So, an EFF classroom might be one where the teaching and learning is = intentionally purposeful ( has meaning for the learner- is learner = centered), contextual (students learn and practice skills in real life = contexts) and constructivist (learners reflect on prior knowledge to = build new knowledge and understanding). The EFF framework then provides = us with the tools to carry out those practices.=20 What I have observed in classrooms and programs where this is happening = is: 1. Students are coming to class on a more consistant basis because they = see that the time they are spending there is meeting their needs. 2. Teachers are more motivated because students are engaged and taking = responsibility for their own learning. 3. Teachers are talking more with other teachers sharing ideas, = challenges and friendship. 4. Increased vision and unity in programs, resulting in desired = outcomes. 5. "Alive" classrooms contribute to "alive" programs and life reproduces = life!!!
