On my campus, Technical Support Services updates security and anti-virus systems on the servers Friday. This practice, started in February, has managed to stop the spread of approximately 9,672 instances of viruses through email, has discovered and deleted 15 infected files on the campus wide drives, as well as numerous other exploits that are Network Operating System and service specific. Faculty and staff are required to follow update procedures on their own campus computers after the update is over. Updating your anti-virus software is the best way to protect yourself (and others) from those pesky bugs. Marcos Valle Edmonds Community College Lynnwood, WA
