jcleary posted a message on 4/7 asking for information about books or
websites that provide listings or reviews of computer-based literacy tools.
Further, Jennifer asked whether the EFF Community has embraced or rejected
such tools.

The EFF Center states that we haven't endorsed any software, but they suggest
that you might want to look at a current software review that is online @
http://www.nwlincs.org/softreview/toc.htm It was done by the Northwest
Regional Literacy Resource Center (Now the ABLE Network Literacy Resource
Center) in 2001-2002. Practitioners and students reviewed the software
which is listed by category. Price, publisher, and numerical rankings are
included for
each software evaluated.

Thanks to Beth Fredric for this information.

If others on the list have access to other software resources, please let us
know.
