Deborah Yoho is a co-moderator for the NIFL-Health Listserv, and she recently
sent this letter to the other moderators. She has given permission to post
it here.

You will see how she is mastering the Standard--Use Information and
Communications Technology with all the components of performance. We know
that one of the best things about the EFF Framework is that it applies to all
of us, and Deborah, a well-educated woman, is proof positive. Here is what
she said:

*Participating on the NIFL discussions have led to so many other things.
Slowly, I began to understand that I have a professional voice worth
listening to. The lists built my confidence. In the past year alone, I
presented at a national conference, was invited to World Education for a
health literacy "summit," found myself the guest, twice, with all expenses
paid, to national meetings with doctors and researchers, and was hired by
another county as a consultant. All of these experiences began in a list
conversation. (Use computers and other electronic tools to acquire, process
and manage information; Use the Internet to explore topics and gather
information)

The agency I lead bears no resemblance to the organization before my
participation on the listservs. We have placed a priority on using
technology for our learners' benefit. (Use electronic tools to learn and
practice skills) I am very proud that what we do here now represents an
innovative, learner-led, quality program. *

Thanks, Debbie, for permission to post this important message.

All the Best,
Meta Potts, Moderator 4-eff listserv
