Colleagues,

Last week, I had the pleasure of working with several resource teachers in
Virginia. As we looked at the EFF Teaching and Learning Cycle, one of the
talented women there said that she liked everything about it, but that something
was missing--the celebration at the end of the cycle. She said, *I don't think
I would want to get into the cycle again until we had found a way of being
joyful about what we had accomplished. *

I like her thinking. The *Reflection* section does emphasize that we need to
take a look at what was learned, but perhaps we also need to reflect and
evaluate our efforts, especially since much has been written lately about the
difference it makes when one (or a group) works hard to accomplish a worthwhile
task.

Remember the little stars we used to get in elementary school for a job well
done? What might take the place of those stars for adults when they have
successfully worked through the T/L cycle? I vote for chocolate!

A Wish for a Great Weekend to all,

Meta Potts, Moderator 4-EFF List
