A special thank you to Sondra for the beautiful clarification of the EFF process and content and for the reminder of why we all do what we do. I have such vivid and happy memories of taking the idea of the family role map out to the focus groups, stopping first in Madison, WI, where we worked most of one day on the definition of a family before we could even get started on responsibilities and key activities. It was those folks who began the process of inclusion. Later, we conducted focus groups, using translators in Mesa and Tucson, Arizona so that we could grasp the ideas of those who spoke Spanish. American Indians in New Mexico encouraged us to change the name from Parent Role Map to Parent/Family Member Role Map, an idea broadly applauded by other participants in the process. Natives of Alaska came to Louisville, KY to participate, along with those from many other cultures, in the idea-gathering process, and insisted that the concepts of community culture and family values appear intact on the face of the document. All of that seems like such a long time ago, but the EFF Framework is still as fresh, applicable, and intentionally pluralistic as it was in the beginning. I'm very proud to have been a part of the development and now a part of the implementation. Happy Holidays to All and Thanks for your membership on this 4-EFF List. Meta Potts, Moderator
