I joined the NLA when I was feeling very shaky about adult literacy, and David Rosen welcomed me and gave me a boost. So I agree with you 100% about the list servs. I have been thinking recently about metaphors, too. We talk about marginalized people and that seems to make a lot of sense. What I am also seeing is a net, like those computer generated diagrams say of topographic features. Except my net shows little peoople plunging through holes of a broken weave. I've got to leave that for now as I am supposed to be somewhere else. Good to read your thoughts. Andrea
