I finally had a chance to read some of my waiting messages and found this review
to be very interesting. Congratulations, George. I couldn't help but pick out
the following quote cited in Jay's excellent review...

'Unlike medicine, agriculture, and industrial production, the field of education
operates largely on the basis of ideology and professional consensus. As such,
it is subject to fads....we will change education to make it an evidenced-based
field' (US Department of Education Strategic Plan, 2002-07)

.and reaffirm my personal view that unlike drugs, crops, and manufactured
products, human beings actually learn through ideas and professional consensus.
When tended to thoughtfully, ethically, carefully, and professionally, that IS
an evidence-based approach.

Hanging in and hanging on!
