As some of you may know, for the past few years, the Association of Adult Literacy Professional Developers (AALPD, which also sponsors this list) has sponsored a pre-conference session for professional developers at COABE. This year, for various reasons, the steering committee of AALPD opted not to set that up, but we think next year we will return to sponsoring a pre-conference session at COABE. This year at COABE, there is a regular conference session sponsored by AALPD. The title is "The Role of Professional Development in Evidence-based Practice in Adult Education", and it is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29 from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Beth Bingman, Susan Joyner and I will be facilitating that session. I'm not sure of the location yet so check your conference program when you get to COABE. We hope to reserve the last five minutes of the session for an update on AALPD activities and business, so please come and join us. For those of you who can't join us at COABE, we can always make the notes or handouts available through either the website or direct e-mail.
