The broader issue as I see it is why have the archives been cleansed, and
specifically on whose authority?  Apparently, all references to US
foreign policy and all references to the proposed legislation of ERIC
have been expunged from the historical record.  Say you don't like them,
make a ruling about posting them, pass a law, whatever, but expunging the
historical record?  Now that's revisionist history.

If this is not the more fundamental issue at this time, then I'm not sure
what is.

Perhaps we can focus some of the discussion on this matter.
