Also, I have a tiny bit of money from the Pfizer foundation to conduct training on how to incorporate health topics into adult education, literacy GED, ESL. If anyone is interested in participating in the training, please let me know. I only have money left for very few trips. I'll provide an all day training workshop and will pay for my travel expenses. PD is something that we do extensively in our program. I believe that the success of our program is partly due to PD. We devote an entire week to PD prior to the beginning of classes. In addition, teachers meet weekly to discuss and evaluate their experiences. I do not have statistically validated evidence that the PD that we has a direct impact in instruction. The reason I mention this is because some people have asked this very question. I have not had the time to conduct research to proove this. However, I do have annecdotal evidence. Our program does non-traditional stuff that teachers would not, otherwise do, unless we asked them and train them specifically to do this. The people that we hire have no prior experience teaching, so there is virtually no chance that they would know how to do what we ask them to. The lives of our students' change directly as a result of what the teachers do, which is a direct result of our PD. Andres -- go here: www.geocities.com/andresmuro/art.html
