Hi everyone,

The latest techy thing according to my techy husband is called wiki. I'm
just learning about this, but it's a space where groups build the knowledge
base together while pulling in information that is already out there. I
guess it's very popular in certain (content) areas right now. For starters,
check out

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

scroll to Browse Wikipedia by topic

Click Education under Applied Arts and Sciences

and see what there is there.

I realize I'm not quite answering Jackie's questions - particularly since
I'm not aware of any ABE stuff happening on wiki, but it could be an
alternate venue to explore: some of the most valuable PD for me has been in
face-to-face (formal and informal) conversations with others, and that is
exactly what happens in wiki - it's a space to share. And given how quickly
this venue is taking off, I guess I would note that it appears to be a
successful way for some to do that sharing. One thing is for certain: it
is needs-based and it is timely. Perhaps it might fit nicely together with
more structured on-line experiences.

Just a thought....
