Melissa,
Through pbs.org you can get to many wonderful documentaries (the
Independent Lens series, POV, etc.) that address topics and issues that
resonate with adult students. Better yet, go to itvs.org, where you can
find documentaries such as Farmingville (about local backlash against
immigrant day laborers), the New Americans, and People Like Us: Social
Class in America. Both websites offer you free, downloadable teaching
resources to go along with the films.
