There is a new truespel.com "phonemic awareness" CD
that instructs on a simple phonetic spelling and
supplies a test that gives a score as to "phonemic,
phonetic, phonological" awareness. It uses nonesense
words, so it's orthographically neutral. The CD takes
1 hour to do, 15 minutes instruction, 35 minutes
practice, 10 minutes final (spelling 40 spoken
nonesense words). Email the final for evaluation.
This for now is free, as we are baselining the tool.
The English language is now respelled phonetically in
truespel (see signature note). The ultimate objective
is a simple IPA replacement that can serve as an ita
and interlanguage phonetic spelling.

I'm a govt worker, so everything is free. The 60k
truespel dictionary is available for those interesting
in furthering the truespel cause.
