Hi Everyone,

First, thank you to Dianna for her warm and welcoming introduction.  Last
week Dianna sent me the names of everyone who subsribes to this list. There
are many friends and colleagues on it with whom I have worked over the
years.  So I am counting on each of you to help me continue the good
discussions and generate a few new ones.  In fact, that is where I can
begin -- by asking a few questions:
       1)  What new topics would you like to address?
       2)  What types of resources would be helpful?
       3)  Are there any guests who you would like me to invite to address a
particular policy or practice?
       4)  How can we keep a lively discussions going?

One question that I am curious about as a new director of a volunteer based
program is, what successful approaches have volunteer agencies used to
respond to assessment, evaluation and data collection issues?

Thank you for this opportunity...I look forward to hearing from everyone.
