(I have tried to re-write bits of it in more accessible language and it is not always easy or even possible.) Part of the point of this using the curriculum with learners is to make us 'accountable' via the learners as well as via paperwork. I have no problems with being accountable except when I feel that the procedures are making me teach badly, which is easy enough! There are also ideas from the improve own learnign and performance wider key skill involved. We are supposed to learn to meet standards and submit evidence that we have done so all by ourselves. There are progession ladders in this 'skill' too. I once tried this out, showing a learner a list of the 'bullet points'on the curriculum. Such a list was kept in her folder for various purposes. She said 'I'll have one of those and one of those and one of those', pointing to the bullet points. I did not have time fully to investigate the implied view of the bullet points behind this request, but it interested me. K
