Katrina >>> hdooley@riral.org 12/02/04 8:50 AM >>> Katrina -- The publisher is Steck-Vaughn. You can check their Adult Education catalog or go to www.steck-vaughn.com. They came out with PD and PE forms. There are also Spanish and French versions now available -- if you provide access to those tests -- as well as audio and large print editions. They have also published an interesting official practice test, which they call "Form PA ESL: Reading Comprehension." We purchased this and plan to use it in for transitional ESL learners -- ie, transitioning from our ESL program into our ABE/ASE program -- who have identified the English GED as a goal. By "use", I mean try it out to see if it actually gives us any valuable information for either instruction or test-readiness. When I called the publisher about the test, I couldn't find anyone there who could give me information about it, either about its development or its response from users. I wonder if anyone else is using this test, and what their assessment of it is so far.
