The conversation began last week, with a question concerning what people felt might be reasonable expectations of success for a program. The conversation has been extremely interesting, and has touched on elements of student retention, students who are not reaching their potential, creating environments that are better suited to clientele/participants, connections with learning gains in the GED, and more. I really can't forward the postings here because there are many and some are lengthy. I encourage you to see the NLA archives, or join the NLA Listserv and participate/read the discussion. Please visit: http://lists.literacytent.org/mailman/listinfo/aaace-nla to sign on to the NLA Listserv or view the archives. Look for the topic "Success" thresholds in the subject line to follow this discussion.
