What should be of special interest to those working with ESL students is the book Speech to Spelling which is, to my knowledge, the only book that works with synoloepha (sandhi) or in non-linguistic parlance, the way native English speaking people of all dialects scrunch together words such as "Yor gonna hafta check this out."
