This four-page fact sheet provides a comprehensive definition of learning disabilities and their effects on adults. 2) Screening for Adults with Learning Disabilities:The Role of the Practitioner in the Assessment Process. This eight-page paper explains what a screening consists of, what knowledge it can provide the literacy practitioner about literacy students' learning needs, and what part it plays in the overall formal assessment of the adult student. 3) Toll-Free Numbers. This one-page iformation sheet provides toll-free numbers, and an overview of what information to expect when calling these numbers. 4) LINKAGES:Social Skills Issues. This 16 page newsletter discusses the social skills issues of the adult literacy student with learning disabilities. Seven well known and respected professionals in the field have contributed to this publication.
