Following is the position announcement for Project Director of
Literacy
Resources/Rhode Island.

2 December 1996

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to be able to enclose a job description for the project
director of our new literacy resource initiative. I am writing to
ask your help in alerting qualified candidates of the availability of
the position.

We have been fortunate in receiving a grant from the Rhode Island
Department of Education establishing this new effort. Called
Literacy
Resources/Rhode Island, the initiative intends to develop new
professional development opportunities for practitioners of adult
education and to facilitate the development of Internet resources for
literacy and adult education in the state.

The position is highly visible and will be the "face" of Literacy
Resources/Rhode Island and a full member of the Swearer Center staff.
As such, the project director will be a highly visible voice for the
Swearer Center within the local community.

The person we are seeking must be flexible and willing to work as
part of the team to support the mission of the Center. Must be able
to generate enthusiasm within the adult education practitioner field.

We hope to begin reviewing resumes around 16 December. Please feel
free to call me with any questions about the position or Literacy
Resources.

Thank you for any help you can give us in identifying qualified
candidates.

My best,
Peter Hocking, Director
