Hello. I recently received a teaching kit on immigration issues and wanted
to pass word along to subscribers to this listserv. Other Colors: Stories of
Women Immigrants includes audiotaped interviews with immigrants to the U.S.
from the Caribbean, Central America, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Ireland
and elsewhere. The teachers' guide has reading and writing activities and
discussion ideas for using the tapes in adult literacy and ESL classes as a
tool against racism and prejudice. It's a real find. You can get a brochure
by e-mailing rmart@unm.edu
