As a new subscriber to this listserve, I have enjoyed reading about
everyone's projects and programs and will try to be a more active
participant myself. Here goes!

I coordinate a statewide literacy project called VITAL which stands for
Volunteers in Training Adult Literacy. This project, funded by the Texas
Education Agency, is housed at the Center for Initiatives at Southwest
Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. As the Coordinator, I
provide training and technical assistance across the state of Texas to
volunteer organizations.

Project VITAL is also part of a statwide consortium called the Adult
Education Professional Development and Curriculum Consortium that is
interested in the professional development of adult educators. I would
like to know what other states and programs are doing in the area of
professional development for adult education folks who are either full
time or part time as well. I hope to hear from some of you. Thanks for
listening/reading!
