I received some money to buy software and don't know what would be useful. >> For your info, the non-profit ALC is offering inexpensive ESL/remedial writing software with instant audiovisual feedback and a 25,000 word vocabulary, even on old PC’s (286+) and even if they don’t have an internal sound card. $79 for one work station -- or $70 for each work station if more than one copy is ordered. The program, which was field tested at Columbia University Teachers College, is termed “excellent” by Literacy Volunteers of New York State. While the demo we send out assumes a Win 95+ environment, we do offer a DOS version as well. Let us know and we’ll be glad to send you a demo thru the mail. Or, if you like the sound of the software (so to speak) and want the real thing right now, you can make your check payable to American Literacy Council. Good luck.
