I, too, teach spe ed by day (middle school self-contained), ABE/GED two 
nights a week, and am a substitute ESL teacher, and I absolutely agree that 
this is a wonderful idea.  I use my skills interchangeably amongst my various 
learners.  Each skill area has helped me tremendously, as does the material.
