Hi, Sue--
According to the Census Bureau website (www.census.gov)
they are not allowed to share the information with any other
agency, and anyone caught doing so is liable for serious trouble
(I think it said 5 years prison).
If I were an immigrant worried about my legal
status though, would I believe this? I don't know, but I might
tend to be cautious rather than trusting.
For people not worried about their legal status, I think
there are lots of good reasons to participate.
