My program is searching for standardized assessment tools/tests that could be used to pre and post test students in GED and ESL multilevel classrooms. Instructors will probably administer the test in class at beginning and end of term, so it needs to be broad enough to measure gain for all levels in pre GED or ESL classes. These classes run on a semester schedule (15 weeks of instruction/4 hours per week), are held in community sites/public schools throughout the city, and are open entry/open exit. Any ideas on what to use? Also, if you have any great secrets how to implement structured assessment in this sort of environment that would be great. Thanks!
