This focus on research and its impact on practice, I think, begs a question: how do practitioners like to get information about research and practice? What information sources are most useful to you, in terms of timeliness, accessibility, practicality, comprehensiveness, user-friendliness, etc.? What would you recommend as a good newsletter, journal or Web site where adult ESL practitioners could get information on research or practice? Why do you like this/these resource(s)? What adult ESL publications/Web sites do you regularly read/visit, and why? What non-adult ESL specific resources do you find useful? In particular, how do you get information about research in our field? How would you like to get it? Do you read Focus on Basics, NCLEnotes, or Hands-on English? Do you visit the NCLE Web site, Dave's ESL Cafe, NIFL LINCS, or Literacy Online regularly? I invite you to share with the list your thoughts on what information resources you like, and why, and how you think these resources (print publications, Web sites, electronic journals, etc.) could do an even better job. (Many thanks to David Rosen of the NLA list. His question of a similar nature on that list sparked this message.) MaryAnn MaryAnn Florez NIFL-ESL Moderator
