As part of its recommendations for ESL/Civics literacy grants, information will be needed to address the question of effectiveness of these programs. This is where we need your help. TESOL is looking for anecdotal evidence regarding the effectiveness of adult ESL programs. We are looking for information from all types of programs: community colleges, CBOs, state-run programs, etc. If you work for a program that was the recipient of an ESL/Civics grant, we would be especially interested in hearing from you on how your program has benefited from it. We are interested in both narratives and statistics. In other words, we would be interested in both individual stories and pure numbers (e.g. increases in students served, etc.). We do not need long articles; short paragraphs or even bullet points would suffice. Please send any and all information to me directly by Monday, February 12. Please identify the program you are with (or are describing), and the type of program. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
