We are currently trying to eliminate this requirement in Illinois but it's an uphill battle. In the arena of driving you have lots of issues--racial profiling; understanding local regulations like wearing a seat belt, keeping your child in a car seat; getting a temporary driver's license without a social security number (let's you buy insurance but valid only for limited period of time), etc. Aliza on 4/19/01 11:25 AM, Susan Gaer at sgaer@yahoo.com wrote: > My scenario > In California you need a social security number to get > a driver license.
